Background: Evolve is a yearly internal event hosted by Accolade, a healthcare navigation benefit that supports employers and health plans. The event aims to gather a selected group of Accolade customers and influencers in the health and benefits space to inspire, inform, and share challenges and solutions when supporting a wide employee population.
The 2020 edition of the event was hosted in a Scottsdale resort and required several design decisions to allow visual consistency and brand excitement.
Sarah Martino (VP of Product), Rajeev Singh (CEO), Robert Cavanaugh (President), Mike Hilton (CIO), and Matt Eurey (EVP & GM) were among the speakers.
The Challenge
One notable challenge was designing an entire event remotely with a small but mighty team of two people, one month before the pandemic shut down the entire country. The venue, Boulders Spa/Resort in Arizona, featured bold geometrical Native-American patterns that dominated the space. I had to creatively develop a visual identity that aligned with our brand while complementing the venue's unique aesthetics. Despite these constraints, we delivered a compelling and cohesive event experience, showcasing our ability to innovate and adapt under pressure.
